1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and Divesting The Domestic LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Wisconsin, operating the Divesting the Domestic application ("App" or "Service").

By creating an account, joining a household, or otherwise accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a household, organization, or other entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

These Terms were last updated on April 19, 2026. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes as described in Section 14.

2. Description of Service

Divesting the Domestic is a household management application that helps families and households coordinate chores, schedules, wellness check-ins, tasks, and related household activities. Features include:

We reserve the right to modify, add, or remove features at any time. When changes materially affect your use of paid features, we will provide advance notice.

The App is intended for personal, household, and family use. It is not intended for commercial enterprise use without a separate commercial agreement.

3. Accounts and Households

3.1 Account Creation

To use the App, you must create an account with a valid email address and a secure password, or authenticate using a supported third-party service (such as Google). You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that:

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at hello@divestingthedomestic.app if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized access to your account that occurs without our fault.

3.3 Households

A household is a shared workspace within the App. The person who creates the household ("Household Creator") becomes a Household Administrator. Up to two members per household may hold the Administrator role. Household Administrators may:

Household Administrators are responsible for ensuring that all members of their household comply with these Terms, including minor members added to the household.

3.4 Inviting Members

Household Administrators may invite other adults to join their household using a household join code or email invitation. By joining a household, a member agrees that their chore data, completion records, and availability information will be visible to other members of that household, in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Personal wellness data remains private to each individual member.

3.5 Minor Members

Children under 18 may be added as household members by an adult Household Administrator. The adult Administrator is responsible for supervising minor members' use of the App and for ensuring compliance with these Terms on their behalf. Children under 13 must not create their own independent accounts; they must be added to a household by a parent or guardian.

4. Acceptable Use

4.1 Permitted Use

You may use the App for lawful, personal household management purposes consistent with these Terms and all applicable laws.

We reserve the right to investigate any violations of these Terms and to take any action we deem appropriate, including suspending or terminating accounts, without prior notice.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

5.1 Free and Paid Plans

The App may offer a free tier with limited features and paid subscription plans with access to full features. Current pricing and plan details are available at divestingthedomestic.app/pricing. We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

5.2 Beta Pricing

During the beta period, the App may be offered at a reduced promotional price. Beta pricing is not guaranteed to continue after the beta period. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before transitioning beta users to standard pricing.

5.3 Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annual, as selected). Payment is processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. All fees are stated in US dollars and are non-refundable except as described in Section 5.5.

5.4 Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to paid features until then.

5.5 Refunds

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers. If you are not satisfied within 14 days of your first paid subscription, contact us at hello@divestingthedomestic.app for a full refund. After the 14-day period, subscription fees are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law (including Australian Consumer Law for Australian users).

5.6 Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we will notify you and may retry the payment. If payment is not received within 7 days of the renewal date, your account may be downgraded to the free tier or suspended. Your data will be retained for 30 days after downgrade, during which you may reactivate your subscription.

5.7 Taxes

Prices do not include applicable taxes. You are responsible for all taxes associated with your subscription, except for taxes on our income.

6. Your Content and Data

6.1 Your Ownership

You retain full ownership of all data and content you enter into the App ("Your Content"), including household profiles, chore configurations, task data, and wellness information. These Terms do not transfer any ownership of Your Content to us.

6.2 License to Us

By using the App, you grant Divesting The Domestic LLC a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the App. We do not use Your Content for advertising or share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

6.3 Data Export

You may export your household data at any time from the account settings in JSON or CSV format. We are committed to ensuring you can always access and take your data with you.

6.4 Data Accuracy

You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter into the App. The App's chore assignment suggestions, analytics, and recommendations are generated based on the data you provide. We are not responsible for inaccurate suggestions resulting from inaccurate input data.

6.5 Aggregate and Anonymized Data

We may use aggregated, anonymized data derived from Your Content (from which all personally identifiable information has been removed) for product improvement, research, and statistical purposes. This anonymized data cannot be used to identify you or your household.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, algorithms, user interface, logos, trademarks, and content created by us, is owned by Divesting The Domestic LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. "Divesting the Domestic" and the App's logo are trademarks of Divesting The Domestic LLC.

7.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the App for your personal household management purposes, subject to these Terms. This license does not include the right to:

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the App ("Feedback"), you grant us an irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that Feedback for any purpose without compensation to you. We appreciate your input and use it to improve the App.

8. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including Google Calendar, Supabase, Vercel, and Stripe. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.

Specifically regarding Google Calendar: the App's Google Calendar integration is subject to Google's Terms of Service. Our use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adheres to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

If a third-party service becomes unavailable, changes its terms, or discontinues its service, we will make reasonable efforts to provide alternative functionality, but we are not liable for disruptions caused by third-party service changes.

9. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Termination

10.1 Termination by You

You may delete your account at any time from the account settings page. Upon deletion, your personal account data will be deleted within 30 days, subject to our data retention obligations described in the Privacy Policy. If you are the sole Administrator of a household, deleting your account will also delete the household and all associated data after a 14-day grace period during which you may transfer administration to another member.

10.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, for:

If we terminate your account without cause, we will provide a pro-rated refund of any prepaid subscription fees for the unused period.

10.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 11, 12, and 13) will survive.

11. Disclaimers

Please read this section carefully. It limits our legal obligations to you.

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE SERVICE.

We do not warrant that:

For Australian Consumers

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010), which cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified. Where our liability cannot be excluded, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law, which may include resupply of the services or a refund of the amount paid.

12. Limitation of Liability

Please read this section carefully. It limits what you can recover from us.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DIVESTING THE DOMESTIC LLC, ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND CONTRACTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR SERVICE INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100 USD.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In particular, nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Dispute Resolution

13.1 Informal Resolution

Before initiating any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at hello@divestingthedomestic.app and give us 30 days to resolve the issue informally. We will make good-faith efforts to resolve disputes amicably.

13.2 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. For EEA, UK, and Australian users, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence also apply and are not affected by this choice of law.

13.3 Arbitration (US Users)

For users located in the United States, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction for claims involving intellectual property infringement or unauthorized access.

Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes with us on an individual basis and waive any right to bring or participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Small claims: Either party may bring claims in small claims court in Dane County, Wisconsin, if the claim qualifies.

13.4 EEA and UK Users

If you are located in the EEA or UK, you may bring claims before the courts of your country of residence, regardless of Section 13.2. The class action waiver in Section 13.3 does not apply to you.

13.5 Australian Users

If you are located in Australia, disputes may be resolved through Australian courts. The Australian Consumer Law applies to these Terms to the extent required by law. The class action waiver does not apply to you.

14. General Provisions

14.1 Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email and a prominent in-app notice. "Material changes" include changes that affect your rights, payment obligations, or data handling. Continued use of the App after notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, subject to any additional consent requirements.

14.2 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Divesting The Domestic LLC regarding the App and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, or negotiations.

14.3 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

14.4 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by an authorized representative of Divesting The Domestic LLC.

14.5 Assignment

You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations to a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of our assets, provided we give you notice and you have the right to delete your account before the assignment takes effect.

14.6 No Third-Party Beneficiaries

These Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights. Only you and Divesting The Domestic LLC have rights under these Terms.

14.7 Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, power failures, internet outages, or acts of third parties.

14.8 Language

These Terms are written in English. If translated, the English version controls in case of conflict.
